Megan - Rhythm

Don't Get Too Comfortable

-

There is a certain rhythm associated with New Orleans that is separated from the various
famous music genres that this city is known for. With rhythm comes routine and with routine comes
comfort. People become comfortable with the things that do not seem to change around here, the food,
the weather, the people, etc. When the temperature drops below seventy degrees, the Academy of the
Sacred Heart students wear sweat shirts and complain asking why the heaters are not on. I am so used
to the dry heat during the recent weather, that I was a victim of a basically flooded car due to an open
sun roof and an unexpected thunderstorm. People get so comfortable with the usual beat of this city.
They do not know how to handle any other way. Some may leave at some point in their lives to try and
make it somewhere else, but the truth is, New Orleans is home, and many people will end up returning.
