There is quite possibly an endless list of things unique to
New Orleans and what qualifies it as “home.” I would define “home” as a place
where you are most comfortable and find or enjoy unique qualities of this
specific place that are unable to be found elsewhere. In other words, there is
just something about it you love, flaw or perfection, that is truly unique to
that place. According to this definition that would make New Orleans a very
easy place to call home and also a very easy place to get attached to as there
are endless flaws and perfections associated with it. Home also has a lot to do
with the people involved with that place. As for New Orleans, people are
undeniably responsible for 50% of the city's distinctive charm. Anyone even
lucky enough to call it home would agree that everyone there shares this sense
of overwhelming pride and unconditional love for it. As unique its inhabitants
may seem, they all have an amazing and similar understanding of what the word
“community” means and how to live by it.
