Torre - Heat

To escape the heat in this bizarre New Orleans weather
Is unrealistic in itself
Many wait until the winter season comes
Hoping snow will defeat this heat
Only for all hopes to be dismissed when meeting another day that calls
for flip flops and shorts
Instead of waiting for the non-existent snow to come
True New Orleanians find a different way to escape the heat
With their hats on their heads
Protecting their skin from the vicious sun rays
And snow balls in hand
And a friend on the side
One is truly equipped to take on this relentless heat
Many tourists will agree that a snowball and a hat and a friend cannot
battle the sun
But true New Orleanians always knows
That those three things can defeat anything that comes their way
Including this New Orleans unbearable heat
